Impact of Covid-19 on the Buying Behaviour of Consumers with Respect to Purchase of Medicines Through online and Retail Outlets

The unprecedented impact of Novel Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) on the economy is transforming consumer behaviour in purchasing various drugs. This study examines change awareness levels and patterns concerning online pharmacies generic drugs wake recent pandemic. It also explores reasons behind changing attitudes, implications these new habits, measures pharmaceutical retailers can take to evolve stronger. We conducted a cross-sectional survey 260 randomly selected consumers attending retail pharmacy attached secondary diabetes care centre Andhra Pradesh from December 2020 January 2021. involved 150 males 110 females. collected each consumer's demographic data, including age, gender, location, annual household income, educational level. used questionnaire assess consumers' buying regarding drugs, as well their favored approaches future shopping. In our study, 63.8% subjects knew about pharmacies, but 20.5% them were aware only after outbreak. Thirteen percent purchased medicines online, while 35.3% did so response On other hand, 64.6% know medicines, 8.3% have not heard until Furthermore, 20.8% cases, 11.1% those who generics addition, we found that 79.2% opted for branded future, 56.9% chose local stores. 'COVID-19 lockdown brought surge purchases. Yet sentiments towards stores are positive during COVID-19 times. post-COVID-19 sentiment looking optimistic medicines.
